India's Bomb-mine!

It's just bizarre!
The way bombs are being discovered from the nukkads and corners of the city of Surat!

Readers' disappointment with our politicians!

Midday readers were furious in response to the trust vote.
Their letters reflected their disappointment with our politicians and the illustration was an attempt to go with their opinion

Three dealers who made UPA victory possible

The three dealers who made UPA victory possible, Amar Singh, Ahmed Patel and Rajeev Shukla.

Somnath Chatterjee in dilemma over his political future!

Caricature of Somnath Chatterjee, done when he was expelled from the CPM.
He's struggling find a direction. Dilemma indeed!

MPs pay for votes so they sell their votes!

If MPs can sell their soul for money, then they do need to share their booty with the voters who made them an MP! If you ask an MP they'll readily tell you that they do pay for votes, so they sell their vote!

The Trust Vote Tamasha is over. What next?

The Trust Vote Tamasha is over.
What next? Nothing on tv channels, can match the drama created by Trust Vote show.
Ekta Kapoor needs to draw some inspiration from our Loksabha show!

Largest Democracy in the World reduced to a TV Tamasha!

The cover done for Midday on the eve of Trust vote,
comparing the occasion to IPL. Thoroughly enjoyed doing the caricatures of our politicians who have reduced the largest Democracy in the World to a TV Tamasha!

Affordable home?

The real estate prices are falling.
But are they still within the reach of common man yet?

The Neta-Market is finally up and bullish!

MPs are in huge demand. They are trading at 25 crores per MP in the open market.

Sports cover on too many cooks in cricket!

The sports cover on the people who are adding mirchi to the Cricket masala.
Would have loved to add some more funny details if I had some more time.
But that's the irony of working in a newspaper with very tight deadline.
Without doubt it's a kinda fun too!

Amar Singh is, now the remote control!

It's ridiculous how politicians like Amar Singh are calling the shots in the Govt.
He's been demanding certain policy changes to suit his corporate friends, ridiculing the democratic system in the process

Finally few convicted in '92 Mumbai riots case. Is it enough?

Few of Shiv Sena's ex-members were convicted in '92 Mumbai riots case, with little punishment.
But the bigger and more powerful names have never been surfaced in the case, leaving the victims of the riots lose faith in the judicial system.

How do you draw a line between THE FEAR and THE PRECAUTION?

How do you draw a line between THE FEAR and THE PRECAUTION?
Especially if you're in media!
This cartoon wasn't published as few journalists thought it could be offending as I had shown Manmohan Singh as a woman with bindi and saree! They asked me to remove the bindi and saree and make him a MAN again. But I knew if I made those changes I would've lost the humour! So finally some other cartoon went instead of this.

Aren't we getting too panicky? A hostile crowd/group can find offence in any visual, any word, any crusade. Why do we have to compromise on our 'disciplined freedom' in the name of constraint? Cartoonists all over the World use personalities/celebrities to represent a situation and carry their opinion.

What do you think about this cartoon? Is it offending to Sikh community or to Congress party?
Please send me your comment on cartoonistsatish@gmail.com
or you can leave your comment on the blog also.
This will surely help me to fine-tune my freedom and grow as a better cartoonist!

Getting into a college is a challenge

Getting into a college is a challenge these days.
Even after getting 70-80% marks you will still struggle to get into a decent college.
Soon colleges will give jobs directly instead of seats, which seems an easier option!

Is this DEAL in the interest of the nation? ... SP-Congress deal!

The same Amar Singh who left Sonia Gandhi's party, with tears in his eyes, after being humiliated four years ago, is now joining hands with the congress party to save the UPA govt. What is the deal that has been chalked out between Samajwadi Party and Congress? People would be more interested to know about that than the N-deal!

Dhoni is tired and wants to rest!

Dhoni is tired and wants rest.
BCCI should wake up and think about our cricketers' health too.
May be we can have two teams. That way we can have more aspiriing players getting captainship!

Global warming responsible for Mumbai floods!

Being incompetent is one thing, but being an idiot is yet another thing.
Just decide for yourself what category does BMC chief fall in?
He asked mumbaikars to live with the water and he feels water-logging in Mumbai is basically due to global warming!

Stock analysts and the volatile markets

Indian stock markets are going through a wild volatile movement.
As more bad news pour in, the markets are dancing wildly to those tunes.
The volatile markets have surprised and embarassed so called 'stock analysts', leaving them with no option but to shut their mouth!

Truck-load of money to shop in India?

The trucks are off the roads in India.
This will again add to the inflation levels in India moving the prices of commodities higher.
Will Indians soon need a truck-load of money to go for shopping?

As Samajwadi Party's Mulayam Singh decides to align with Sonia Gandhi, will Amitabh Bachchan change his dialogue to 'UPA mein hai Dum...'?
