Today, we'll know.
We're in a situation where before delivering one judgement,
we have to make sure that there's an unprecedented security!

Low-cost housing in Mumbai!
Owning a home in Mumbai is not even a dream for a middle-class family. You dream about something practical!
There's an effort to create low-cost housing for the middle-class. Recently the Maharashtra CM gave his nod for low-cost housing. Will it help the poor or will be grabbed by the politicians and their party workers?

UPA govt wants to unarm the Indian Army in Kashmir!
The UPA govt is trying to strengthen a weak Omar Abdullah by diluting Indian Army's special powers called AFSPA, in Kashmir. The situation in Kashmir is extremely difficult for army to handle, with the constant interference by outside forces like Pakistan. Diluting army's special powers in the valley will weaken their fight against the separatists, who are backed by Pakistan.

Manmohan Singh shares retirement plans with Sachin!
PM Manmohan Singh refused to retire when a select group of editors asked him about his retirement plans. I'm always puzzled by such questions. He's been asked this question repeatedly.
The other person who always face such question about retirement is cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Even when he scores a century, media will still ask him about his retirement plans.
Their answers always make media look stupid!
From my facebook page...
Making of this cartoon...
One technique of getting an idea for a cartoon(on contemporary issues) is by connecting two hot issues. When PM Singh declared that he won't retire, I was really surprised to see the headline. Why should he retire? Just to make way for little Rahul? That tempted me to think about another great achiever who regularly faces such question, Sachin Tendulkar. Why should Sachin retire, when he's performing far far better than any young cricketer? And look at the alternatives we have once he retires! Our bench strength in Team India looks more like a hospital ward!
Coming to the illustration part, I'm not very happy with the drawing part, but had to finish it in a hurry so as to meet the deadline. I wish I could spend little more time to get the right look for the carton. Do share your views about the idea and cartoon. Thanks

Food minister Sharad Pawar is indeed feeding!
Sharad Pawar will soon replace Lalu Prasad Yadav as media's favourite child. Of course Pawar is the most boring politician for a drama-crazy tv media, but look at the recent newspapers, look at the recent news bulletins(breaking news!). Probably he's been in the news for the most part of our lives. As our agriculture and food minister, as BCCI bigwig, as ICC chief, as NCP leader and as a prominent figure from Maharashtra politics! Phew! Who says he's not feeding!
From my cartoon page on facebook!
Satish Acharya's cartoon page I always loved caricaturing Sharad Pawar. He's one of those politicians, where I don't need to look at a photo while caricaturing. I could draw from memory(Some of the others are Manmohan singh, Sonia, Lalu, Mulayam, Mamta, Advani, Gadkari, Thackerays(all of them!) etc etc) But while doing this cartoon I thought of using his photo for caricaturing him. I guess it came out pretty decent.I always wondered how can Pawar manage so many roles. As a senior union minister, as an important partner of UPA, as BCCI bigwig, as ICC chief, as NCP leader ...phew! And he was in news for all the wrong reasons in different roles. That thought prompted me to this cartoon idea. There's absolutely no formula to get an idea. There's no method also. Your profession trains your mind and sets your thoughts for the right tuning! Really complex!
